Easter Goodies

No matter how old I get, I will never be too old for the Easter bunny! There is no age limit on the exciting giddy feeling when you wake up on Easter Sunday to go on an Easter Egg Hunt to find your chocolate goodies.

In previous years my family has enjoyed Easter Sunday's with family friends having a great barbeque dinner, swims in the pool, pit bike racing and a good old fashioned egg hunt (being the oldest 'child' there doesn't stop me from going mad for chocolate in the egg hunt and leaving with a basket full of chocolate). But this year I was saddened to wake up to no chocolate, although waking up at midday may suggest that either my dog or brother ate all my chocolate. Alas I discovered that we would be getting our Easter chocolate the next day when it was on sale and therefore receiving double the chocolate we would usually get (and that was ay okay with me).

The next morning on my break at work my mum had texted me saying that there were no cadbury bunnies left anywhere :'( this is the part where you start crying...
But determination prevailed as I found a Darrell Lea Milk Chocolate Nougat Egg at work, Cadbury Easter Chicks and Lindt Milk Chocolate Bunnies at Target. Easter was saved!!

Delicious Darrell Lea Milk Chocolate Nougat Egg with the mysterious story of it's origin: The Elusive Nougat Bird

Mother Lindt Bunny with Baby Lindt Bunny and a headless chook (I couldn't wait to eat the Cadbury Easter Chick)

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and a relaxing long weekend!

January Makeup Favourites

Yo People!

It's been a little while but hey, I was busy... that's enough of my excuses, let's get this post on the road!

Here are the products I have been loving and using A LOT the past month!

Top to bottom L to R: NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil in Charcoal, Maybelline Full 'N Soft Waterproof Mascara, Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in 170 Genuine Plum, Benefit Sun Beam, Revlon Colorstay 24hr Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin in 240 Medium Beige.

Arguably the biggest make up trend of 2014, this was definitely the year brows became prominent in every day makeup routines! Eyebrows on FLEEK! As my natural hair colour is almost black, it is quite hard to find drugstore eyebrow pencils/kits that actually match my hair colour, but this is PERFECT! If you have dark brown/black hair I highly reccomend this for the colour match alone! On top of that, the wind up crayon is not too opaque and can be built to desired intensity. I was never into filling my eyebrows until I got this and it makes a hell of a difference! I've got many compliments from strangers about my brows, so imma take it and thank NYX.

Second item is probably my favourite makeup product ever, and is my holy grail mascara. I will continue to buy this mascara until the end of time! It does exactly what it says- makes my lashes full and soft looking, but it is also buildable for a more voluminous look. It holds curl perfectly for this gal's long and stubbornly straight lashes which is probably why I love it so much. It just opens my wee little eyes up so much, and for that I am grateful Maybelline.

Moving onto blush, I've had this Rimmel one for a while but I've only started gravitating to it recently. As I look in the mirror shortly after 'finishing' my face I feel the need for more rosy cheeks with from a product with good staying power and this is it! As I've been using highlighter all the time, I feel the need for a non-shimmer blush and Rimmel does it well.

Speaking of highlighter (my new found makeup revelation) I am IN LOVE with the Benefit Sun Beam! I got a mini size in one of their gift tins, and although I bought the in for the porefessional primer and they're real mascara, this is the real standout for me. The goldish shimmer is perfect for looking blissfully sunkissed in the Australian Summer, and adds so much more dimension to my face! I will definitely be repurchasing when this baby runs out!

Finally, an old favourite of mine that I have neglected for about 9 months, the Revlon Colorstay 24hr Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin in 240 Medium Beige (which I'm sad to say is now empty, but there's something very satisfying of completely using up a product am I right?). I tend to reach for this in the Summer months for it's great lasting power in the Australian sun (+ my sweat) and provides medium coverage that's easily buildable to full coverage, which is a necessity for me.

So there we are! I hope you enjoyed this post and are having a great 2015 so far!

That's all for now!
